HarvestLab™ measures moisture on the go to provide real-time data useful when analyzing feed. When installed on the SPFH, HarvestLab is used in conjunction with Harvest Monitor to measure yield and moisture. The yield measurement is accomplished through a mass flow sensor.

HarvestLab moisture sensor measures moisture with a high degree of accuracy.  The Harvest Monitor system has moisture accuracy of +/-2% for fresh corn and alfalfa.

The HarvestLab™ moisture sensor mounts to the top of the discharge spout and takes accurate moisture readings of the crop as it passes through the spout with the same technology as forage labs use to measure moisture.

A sapphire glass lens is used with the HarvestLab moisture sensor when mounted on the SPFH. Sapphire glass is known as one of the hardest, most scratch resistant materials in the world and is second only to a diamond.

The sensor takes moisture readings in less-than one second intervals, to give the operator uncompromised accuracy of crop conditions, as the forage harvester goes through the field.

Availability

• HarvestLab and Harvest Monitor is available for order with the Original GreenStar™ system only.
• In the future, Harvest Monitor will be rebuilt to be compatible with the GreenStar 2 system. When this happens, Harvest monitor or Harvest Doc will no longer be available on the Original GreenStar system. A Field kit will need to be purchased when upgrading to the GS2 display from the Original GreenStar system.
• In the future, the HarvestLab moisture sensor will have the capability to be removed from a SPFH and used as a stationary lab unit for ensiled crop moisture measurements. The stationary lab kit will be sold separately.

Compatibility
All John Deere 7000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters are capable of running HarvestLab, Harvest Monitor, and Harvest Doc with the Original GreenStar System.

Documentation
Apex Farm Management software will not be made available to support HarvestLab until winter bundle with Apex 2.0
